Harold Hixon Brittingham

Less is known about the Brittingham's second child, Harold. He is the only one of the three children who doesn't appear in a single photograph of the family's travels. He is also less well-known in Madison because he did not maintain strong ties to the area after leaving.

He attended Yale University and became a doctor. He lived in Cleveland for a while, where a community health center associated with Case Western Reserve University built The Harold H. Brittingham Memorial Library. Eventually Harold and his wife, Lucile Matthews, settled in Texas to raise their four children. Although all three Brittingham children were initially named as trustees of the Brittingham Fund, Harold seems to have left most of the decision making to his siblings.
