What record groups are available in the UW Archives?

The Memorial Archives houses most of the University General, Board of Regents, Board of Visitors, Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF), Chancellors & Presidents, Faculty Governance, College of Letters & Science, Law School, School of Business, Physical Plant, Student Affairs, Student Life, Alumni Association, General Library System, Intercollegiate Athletics, Business Administration, Social Education, Industrial Relations Research Institute, University Communications, State Geologist, Forest Products Laboratory, UW System and Arts Council.

The Steenbock Archives houses most of the Graduate School, Engineering, Agriculture, Human Ecology, Medical School, School of Education, Pharmacy, Summer Session, Extension, ROTC, Arboretum, Limnology, Residence Halls/Housing, Radio Education, UW Colleges, YWCA and YMCA Collections.

Prior to the establishment of the UW Archives, the Wisconsin Historical Society held UW Manuscripts. Many of these records are still in their collections. You may check their catalog, ArCat, to find these records.
