IntroductionThe Manual describes official University policies and procedures, and attempts to reflect accurately State of Wisconsin and Federal laws, rules and regulations that effect University records. For a brief overview of the steps involved in the records process, please see our Fact Sheet on the Records Process. Then return to the manual for specifics on how to complete each stage of the process. The information in the Manual is arranged sequentially. If you are new to the records management process, you should be able to start at Chapter 1 and work through the chapters in order to gain a basic understanding for the policies and procedures governing records at the UW.
